Alyssa Baldo
Alyssa Baldo received her B.S. in Marine Biology at U.C. Santa Cruz in winter 2016. She has worked with the CA Department of Water Resources on Bay-Delta Environmental Compliance studies to monitor and assess the ecological and anthropomorphic effects on native delta species, particularly salmonids and Longfin Smelt. Her efforts with the Hobbs Lab revolve around the Longfin Smelt Project – field work conducting tows and surveys and lab work preparing otoliths for aging and Strontium isotope analysis, but she’s really excited to also be working on Longfin reproductive biology through dissections and gonad assessment. In her free time, Alyssa enjoys volunteer diving at the California Academy of Sciences in San Francisco, camping, hiking, fishing, and going to the beach.
