Brian Alper

Brian is a fish biologist who graduated from the University of New England with a BS in Marine Sciences in 2022. As an undergraduate, Brian conducted an independent study on the relationship between otolith and scale geochemistry in striped bass. He then went on to become a field technician for the Gulf of Maine research Institute, where he collected otolith and muscle samples from Atlantic bluefin tuna for fisheries management-based research. In his free time Brian enjoys hiking and rock climbing, and he one day hopes to study diadromous fish at a research institute.
